Rumah Rasa Welcomes Ramadan with Daily Dinner Buffet

May 24, 2018

Located right beside the Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim mosque, Rumah Rasa is the ideal halal- certified restaurant for breaking fast after prayers. To make it a real treat this upcoming festive season, the restaurant will be launching a special Ramadan buffet starting 16th May to 14th June 2018.

Helmed by Executive Chef Esa, the buffet will include highlights like the Chick Kut Teh served with tau pok, dried mushroom and garlic, where the broth is cooked overnight to accentuate the flavours. Do also dig in to the Lemak Gudeg, where young jackfruit is braised in spicy coconut broth before being served on the buffet line.

 Ayam Woku Belanga

Next up is the Ayam Woku Belanga, a marinated chicken seasoned in a spice mixture found in Manado cuisine of North Sulawesi Indonesia. This tender, hot and spicy chicken with rich aroma will be complemented by the fragrance of pandan and kemangi. Then there’s the Bebek Cabai Ijo – Indonesian braised duck in green chilli sauce, which will surely earn a thumbs-up from diners. The duck is well- marinated before Chef prepares it with the flavourful ijo.

From Sundays to Thursdays, the dinner buffet will be accompanied by live stations with chefs cooking up piping hot Laksa Asam and Roti John on the spot. Customize your roti john with your choice of fillings – char siew chicken, cheese or minced mutton.

Come Fridays, Saturdays and eve of Public Holidays, look out for the live BBQ station. On the live BBQ grill will be perennial favourites like marinated sotong, fresh tiger prawn, kembong fish, sliced beef, assorted satay, and more.

Finish off with sweet Indonesian treats like the Bubur Kacang Ijo (mung beans porridge with coconut milk and palm sugar), assorted kueh kuehs, Cengkodok Pisang (homemade fried banana balls) and others. Enjoy the tropical fruit selections such as mata kuching (longan) and manggis (mangosteen) if you are not a fan of desserts.

Chef has also prepared a takeaway set priced at $80 nett for 4 people and $40 nett for 2. Orders have to be placed by 2.30PM on the same day. The set includes Lemak Gudeg, Ayam Woku Belanga, Pedas Kakap, Rawon Sapi, choice of steamed white rice or nasi kuning and mixed fruit platter.

The all-day dining restaurant will also start breakfast at 5.00am during the same period too.
