Fish & Chicks Is Now Halal!

December 18, 2017

Rejoice! Fish & Chicks has finally gone Halal! Together with our friends The Halal Food Blog, we headed down to give it a try. Yasssss..........Like, finally.

If you've not heard of Fish & Chicks yet, you've probably been living under a rock. You can spot them at food courts and they have made a name for themselves for serving up some really great food at super affordable prices.

Quite an eclectic menu, here's what we dug into....

Lobster with Mentaiko Pasta ($16.90)

Salted Egg Pasta with Chicken ($10.50)

If you're a pasta fan like us then give the Lobster with Mentaiko Pasta or the Salted Egg Pasta with Chicken a try. To be honest, we couldn't quite decide which one we liked better. The Salted Egg sauce is made from scratch with actual salted eggs not the artificial powdered version. So you're getting your money's worth. But then again the Mentaiko sauce is so tasty that we aimed at that the whole time. The jury is out on which is better in our opinion. Why don't you give it a try yourself and tell us which one you prefer. :)

Tom Yum Pasta ($10.50)

If you're looking for something with a bit of a spicy kick then try the Tom Yum Pasta. This can be found in their "Take Me To Thailand" Special Menu. *Hint hint* They release special menus/dishes every now and then so be sure to check those out when you're there.

So how was the Tom Yum? Spicy? Check! Sour? Check! Tasty? Double Check! This is going to leave you slurping to the last drop.

Best Of Both Worlds ($14.80)

So we can't talk about Fish & Chicks without talking about their signature fish and chips right? Duh. The Best of Both Worlds give you...well...the best of both worlds lah. A plate that combines two of their signature flavours of Fish & Chips - the Salted Egg sauce and the Chili Crab sauce. Both sauces are so tasty that we (again!) couldn't decide which one we liked better. Oh the same dilemma as the pasta. But if you have a favourite and don't want to get this double version, you can order them separately - the Chili Crab Fish & Chips and the Salted Egg Fish & Chips are at $11.60 each.

Fish & Lobster ($19.90)

We seeeaaa-fooood. Geddit geddit? Ok lame. Anyways, jokes aside, as we said Fish & Chicks like keeping their customers on their toes by releasing specials every now and then. And lucky us, there was a selection of lobster dishes for us to try. A decent sized lobster at $19.90? Yes, please!

You can choose between the Chili, Cheese or Mentaiko sauce but we dived into the Mentaiko sauce obviously which by the way goes really well with the sweetness of the lobster. The lobster was accompanied with the Salted Egg Fish & Chips.

So we had all that and more, and by the time we were done, we had to literally roll out of there. Still crazy to think that all this can be found at a food court! Then again, that means you're getting these amazing dishes at very very affordable prices. Definitely worth a trip to any of their outlets (listed below).
