Rumah Rasa celebrates National Day with Street Food Favourites Buffet

In celebration of both Singapore’s National Day and Indonesia’s Independence Day on the 9th August and 17th August respectively, Rumah Rasa, the halal Indonesian restaurant at Bay Hotel Singapore will be launching the Street Food Favourites buffet from 08 August. The spread will highlight street food favourites from both Singapore and Indonesia.

Our Indonesian expats can have a taste of home by enjoying Ketoprak. This dish which is readily available in Jakarta is made up of fried tofu, steamed rice cake, sliced cabbage and cucumber, rice vermicelli, bean sprouts and then served in peanut sauce.

Sio Mai will also be served on the buffet spread. The assortment of Indonesian stuffed bittergourd, chicken siew mai, stuffed beancurd and ngo hiang can be commonly seen along the street carts in various parts of Indonesia. Dip these snacks inspired by the Chinese Indonesians in sweet sour and spicy chilli sauce for the ultimate street food experience.

Do try the Lontong Goreng, relatively similar to Singapore’s fried carrot cake. The lontong (compressed rice cake) will be cut into small pieces and goreng with leek, chilli and fried shallots.
